POSITION OVERVIEW
As the Country HR Manager for China, you will lead all HR operations activities for Qeelin in China, serving as a strategic business partner to the China management team. This role combines operational HR expertise with a deep understanding of Qeelin’s unique cultural DNA and global vision. As a proactive problem-solver, you will identify organizational gaps, design HR initiatives that enhance leadership capabilities, and foster a culture of innovation to sustain Qeelin’s leadership in China’s luxury market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic HR Leadership & Global-Local Alignment
- Design and execute China-specific HR tactics that integrate Qeelin’s international HR frameworks with local market realities.
- Advise China management team on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent management to address challenges in China’s luxury sector, including competition from global brands and the rise of Gen Z consumers
- Champion data-driven HR initiatives, leveraging analytics to optimize talent acquisition, succession planning, and performance management for Qeelin’s China teams and cross-regional projects.
2. Talent Acquisition & Leadership Development
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for critical roles, including senior leadership, sales teams, and etc, ensuring alignment with Qeelin’s brand ethos
- Design leadership programs tailored to Qeelin’s dual identity as a Chinese-rooted global brand, emphasizing cultural fluency, creative leadership, and cross-cultural collaboration.
- Build a high-performing HR team with expertise in fashion retail, talent management, and organizational change.
3. Employee Engagement & Retention
- Drive initiatives to enhance employee experience, including career pathing, recognition programs, and workplace culture enhancements that reflect Qeelin’s values
- Address retention challenges by understanding Gen Z talent’s expectations
- Manage employee relations, ensuring compliance with China’s labor laws and mitigating risks related to workplace compliance and ethics.
4. Organizational Change & Group Initiatives
- Lead HR initiatives for Qeelin’s global projects to drive organizational development.
- Act as a bridge between Qeelin’s China teams and global brand stakeholders, ensuring local adaptability and alignment on projects.
- Proactively identify gaps in organizational capabilities (e.g., leadership pipeline, innovation capacity) and design solutions to bridge these gaps, such as implementing cross-functional training or mentorship programs
5. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to China’s evolving labor regulations, data privacy laws (e.g., PIPL), and industry-specific compliance requirements for luxury goods.
- Manage HR-related audits, contracts, and policies to mitigate legal and reputational risks, particularly for Qeelin’s high-profile cultural and sustainability initiatives.
6. Cross-Functional & group Collaboration
- Partner with group HR teams to implement standardized processes (e.g., HRIS, payroll) while customizing solutions for China’s market
- Collaborate with Group HR on major initiatives and act as the spokesperson for the house
