Empowering Women

At Kering, we are convinced that diversity is a valuable resource. The Group is particularly committed to gender equality and to the development of talented women in all its entities and at all levels of the organization.

A longstanding commitment

In 2010, Kering was one of the first to adopt the Women’s Empowerment Principles, an initiative of UN Women and the UN Global Compact. By endorsing the Principles, businesses make a concrete commitment to promote the advancement of women in the workplace and the community. That same year, Kering launched its Leadership and Gender Diversity program to enable women to take on management roles at the highest levels and, more generally, to embed a culture of equality throughout the Group.

Worldwide recognition

Kering’s commitment on behalf of women is recognized worldwide. In 2024, Kering placed 10th globally and 2nd in France, on the FTSE Russell Diversity and Inclusion Index. The same year, Gucci achieved Gender Parity Certification for the second consecutive year, as outlined in the Italian government’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP – Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza), following an evaluation process audited by Bureau Veritas. The House was also recognized with the prestigious Observatory Women and Fashion Award in the category of Empowerment: Cultural Policies for Female Career Development.

Programs to promote women

Kering is committed to inspiring women to develop their talents. That’s precisely why the Group supports women with specific programs on leadership training and mentoring in an endeavor to develop female talent. Over the last eight years, Kering has joined forces with the women’s international leadership program, EVE. What’s more, the Group has expanded its internal program – Women In Luxury – aimed at championing gender equality. Kick-started in France, in 2022, the program’s scope extends to 11 locations across various regions including Hong Kong, mainland China, Japan, Korea, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, the United States and Mexico. Last year also saw Boucheron unveil its Boucheron Women in Luxury Mentoring Program. The latter focuses on career guidance, boosting self-confidence, networking and upskilling as well as advice on maintaining a work-life balance.  These actions are yielding results: today women at Kering account for 63% of our total headcount; 58% of managers; 46% of our Executive Committee and 55% of our Board of Directors (excluding Directors representing employees) – placing Kering well ahead of other CAC 40 companies in terms of gender equal leadership. Throughout the Group, Kering strives to continue its efforts to reach gender balance while ending the gender pay gap.

Kering Foundation and Women in Motion

In addition to these actions within the Group, Kering is giving support to women through two initiatives emblematic of its commitment. Since its inception in 2008, Kering Foundation has combatted violence against women – and now protects children survivors of violence. Launched in 2015, the Women In Motion program furthers its commitment to spotlighting female talent in the arts and culture, with the aim of changing perceptions.
